I made an account just to post on here because I experience the same thing…

I first encountered internal tremors + tinnitus when I was taking cymbalta and oxycodone but the tremors would start when if I smoked marijuana. Even a very small amount.

Now I’m on lexapro and the same thing happens. It only happens when I smoke marijuana. I only very recently realized that this is what was causing it and cut it out completely and it happens significantly less.

It is a frightening feeling the tremors and tinnitus. It’s exactly as you describe. It feels like I’m going to have a seizure, or like I am having one honestly.

The guess I had for myself was possible serotonin syndrome or at the least elevated levels of serotonin.

My brain rumbles (which also feel like “brain zaps’ except continuous, buzzing) come in varying intensities.

It’s low in intensity for a few seconds, then as if someone is smashing on a gas pedal, it cranks up in intensity for another few seconds, and it reduces back to low and then it repeats in this sequence.

At first I thought perhaps I was having anxiety instead of tremors, but my teeth would chatter because of them. And I, like you, feel it in my chest and abdomen. It’s an “internal tremor” for me. You can’t see me physically shaking.

My next step was to see a neurologist too. Now I’m unsure. I scheduled an appointment with my GP
so I could get the referral.

I just feel off. Even when I’m not smoking marijuana, I feel off. The tremors do subside when I’m not smoking but I have noticed them while sober as well. Usually when waking up or when going to sleep. And it’s typically followed by sleep paralysis.

Oddly enough this same “brain rumbling” & tinnitus that I’m having while awake is the EXACT thing I also experience while actually in sleep paralysis itself. Even the sequence of strong intensity, then low intensity.

So, I really don’t know what any of this means at all, but this is my experience. I’m absolutely puzzled by it all.
