Kidney cancer may have returned: Need encouragement

Posted by lkhanson @lkhanson, Oct 26, 2022

I need some thoughts Going to lay out the facts
My son 46 years old Crohn's when he was 12. Since then colon removed at the age of 23. Cancer was found in the colon. 9 years ago right kidney removed. Cancer was found after removal. Now after being healthy putting on weight, blood pressure has been rather high so meds for that perscribed. Did an MRI yesterday and found what appears to be a 1.6 mass on his other kidney. I know that we need to wait and see what the dr. says but this mother needs some encouraging words Thankyou

@lkhanson, this is hard news to digest. I'm tagging a few kidney cancer warriors, like @bomed @pml @nang @sally0526 @pcondon @collegeprof @azkidney57 to join this discussion.

While you're waiting for more information about the new mass found on your son's other kidney, let's talk mom to mom. I just put on the kettle. Imagine I've just brought you a cup of steaming tea. What's going through your mind? How is your son handling this news? When will he meet with the doctor to find out more? How are YOU doing? Really.

Krohns is a disease that I do not know much about but it seems like the weight gain is concerning. Bloodwork is super easy now and is a tell all. I would certainly recommend that. I wish you the best
