Medical chelation is explained here: https://www.webmd.com/balance/guide/what-is-chelation-therapy. Natural chelation reportedly can be accomplished via the oral ingestion of cilantro and chlorella; this appears to be generally accepted. If you read through the Grover's forums here and on Facebook, you will see that many people swear by cilantro, or cilantro/chlorella, smoothies for relief, remission, and even cure. Since cilantro and chlorella are metal detoxifiers, I was researching whether there is a known link between Grover's and heavy metal toxicity. The findings reported above are all that I found from within the medical community. The evidence is far from conclusive, but at least it comes from a physician.

The connection between Grover’s Disease and mercury has long been recognised. I had my first (and only) outbreak of GD in 2008 following receipt of a flu shot. I subsequently found that the vaccine contained a mercury compound (thimerosol) as a preservative. Since then I have avoided vaccines containing mercury and have had no further outbreak of GD, although the first outbreak lasted nearly a year.
