Hi @amywhite414, a lumpectomy is a surgical procedure performed on a solid breast mass to determine if it is benign (non-cancer) or malignant (cancer). The suspicious lump and some surrounding tissue is excised and analyzed. Most breast lumps are benign. I'm glad that you mom's was not cancer.
It sounds like your mom is dealing with some difficult after-effects of radiation, a weak immune system and recovering from stroke. Allow me to guide you to some related discussions to help you get tips from other members. Simply click the links.

I can understand that you are very distraught at seeing your mom suffer like this. It sounds like the hospital might be the best place for her to be right now so that she can be monitored closely for infection and seizures, to stay hydrated and get her potassium levels regulated.
Do you live close to your mom? Are you allowed to visit her in the hospital?
