Hi pinkbean.
I recently had a bilateral lumpectomy. My left breast had DCIS and my right breast had 3 “areas of concern”. I think 2 of the areas were labeled DCIS and one area was “suspicious” and considered pre-cancerous. I still had a lumpectomy and all three areas were removed.
Afterwards, the right breast blew up like a balloon with fluid because so much material was removed.
It’s been 6 weeks since the surgery and my breast is much smaller now and I’m more comfortable.
I see my surgeon again this week and my 2nd-opinion oncologist and radiation oncologist next week to talk about post-surgery treatment options.

Thanks for the reply. I consulted 3 breast surgeons and all of them said mastectomy because of 2 dcis in same breast.

I had single mastectomy on 16th. It went well and I am recovering. Waiting for the surgery pathology results this week and then meet with oncologist. I just saw you have 2nd opinion oncologist, I may consider have 2 oncologists to consult the after surgery treatment plan. Thank you
