Testosterone “Supplements” After RT?

Posted by docwatson @docwatson, Nov 22, 2022

I had proton therapy @ Mayo/PHX (can’t recommend them high enough) in 2019, PSA now below 0.2. I caught Covid in late October, just now getting over the symptoms, but still a lot of fatigue. Our local health food store highly recommended Host Defense “Breathe” mushroom supplements. These include cordyceps, which may (depend on whose research) increase testosterone. So my generic question is, is anyone taking, or avoiding, any kind of testosterone supplements after successful proton therapy? Thanks in advance.

I am 2 years out from radical prostatectomy, Gleason 3+4 and high risk on Genomic scale, 2 months out from ending 6 month oral harmone therapy (Orgovix) , 7 months out after View Ray radiation in a UCLA trial that I participated in. I just had a PSA that is at 0 and my testorone is at 24. I asked my trial doctor if I should/could take supplements to increase my testorone levels. He said to wait and let my body recover naturally. It's hard to wait, I am very tired of the side effects of harmone suppression.
