If you are new to a NETs diagnosis or if you have been on the NETs journey for a while, the NETs support group is a great way to learn and share. You must register in advance in order to get the Zoom link.

The Neuroendocrine Cancer Zebras meet monthly on the first Thursday every month from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Eastern time by the Florida campus of Mayo Clinic. You can join the meeting virtually using Zoom. Each meeting features an invited guest speaker. Topics include symptom and disease management as well as the emotional, physical, and financial impact of disease.

If your biopsy results show neuroendocrine cells, yes please join our group. As I mentioned in my post, you will need to register in advance in order to get the Zoom link. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

The Mayo NETs Support Group meeting is this Thursday, December 1, 5:30 until 7 PM, EST. This Thursday, February 2, at 5:30 EST, the Mayo Clinic NETs support group will be meeting via Zoom. There will be a sharing time for the last 45 minutes to talk together with the other members and share experiences.

Dr. James R. Howe, is a Surgical Oncologist, co-director of the Neuroendocrine Cancer Clinic, Division Director of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery, and Professor of Surgery at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He specializes in taking care of patients with cancers of the pancreas, liver, GI tract, soft tissue sarcoma, melanoma, thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Recently, he has developed a large clinical practice and research interest in the genetics of neuroendocrine tumors(NETs). His current research focus is the study of gene expression profiles in pancreatic and small bowel NETs to identify new targets for imaging and treatment, and collection of families to search for predisposing genes.

A joint initiative of the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation and LACNETS.
