Echolight sonogram scan for bones
Has anyone heard of, or had an Echolight sonogram scan instead of a radiation DEXA scan? New FDA approved that has been used in Europe for awhile. https://www.echolightmedical.com/en/company/

No, I qualify for a Dexa Scan next year. Did you check out Dr. Fishman's 12 Poses vs Osteoporosis? Algaecal has a lot of information posted about this too. It's kind of exciting - so I added the 12 poses daily to the vibration plate "bone building" programs - twice a day for 15 minutes at a time. Hopefully, all this will show good results in a year. What about you? How's it going?
Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm back in Asheville, from Florida, and was unpacking (yet more) books and assembling bookcases and wondered if that counts as weight-bearing exercise. Also I'm too old for such physical labor, lol. I haven't yet ordered the vibrating plates but another writer here mentioned a place in Asheville that uses them so I plan to check them out. And plan to get an Echolight and TSB analysis to get a better picture if where I am, skelatally-speaking. My DEXA numbers could be higher but they're pretty
much unchanged over 6 years so maybe things took a hit earlier but are stable now. Or at least that's my hope.
So maybe TBS is unrelated to Bone Score? If the tech has merit, it'll become available nationally eventually since it has FDA approval now.
I’ve had the Dexa scan and Dr wants me on Forteo. I’ve read about EchoLight and want opinions on doing this test instead before I start medications. Any input?

Echolight? Never heard of this, but if I can get a bone scan without radiation, I'm in. I've learned so much from this site! Something to look into. Sharing information and bringing it to doctors attention will provide us with better level of care.
I had an Echolight scan done at the Asheville location in October. It shows things to be considerably better than the dexa scan did. I am going to see an endocrinologist at the end of January, but now have an x-ray confirming that I have NOT had any fractures, a dexa scan from two and a half years ago and another one from just a few months ago, and this Echolight scan. I figure the more information I can give her the better. I will go on a biphosphonate if it makes sense, but I don't just want to go on it without a careful and thorough understanding of what my risks of a fracture actually are. I have no family history of fracture, don't smoke, don't drink any alcohol, and already workout 5-6 days a week doing a variety of weight bearing exercises, aerobics, yoga, pilates, and weight lifting. It cost $200 for the Echolight, but I think it's worth it if you can afford it.
