I take it with gabapentin . It works much better than gabapentin alone . It takes a while for your digestive system to adjust but I would recommend it . Works well for me .

I have taken Cymbalta for a few years for depression. Although my doctor has suggested changing to another antidepressant, I have resisted because it’s supposed to help with pain. I have arthritis in all my joints, I cannot take any kind of pain medication so I will continue with the Cymbalta.

If I take a 1/2 of Tramadol sometimes at night is that bad for body?

Since Tramadol is an opioid-like prescription drug, what does the provider who prescribed it recommend?

I notice from your posts that you have ulcerative colitis and Sjogrens as well as pancreatic cysts. These all need to be considered, as well as all other meds you take, to determine if it is safe and advisable for you. The precautions for Tramadol specify potential adverse gastrointestinal effects. Tramadol can also be dangerous for older people, with increased side effects, and a danger of falls.

I know some people who live near the Mexico border buy it there and self-medicate as though they are taking Tylenol, or pass it to friends and family.

Please don't do this - it is much closer in its makeup and risks to opioids, not like Tylenol or aspirin. There are risks for interactions and side effects.

Have you talked to the doctor about use of Tramadol?

Tried it twice. However, the second time, I experienced side affects where I had to quit the medication cold turkey...not a pleasant esperience.

I’ve been taking it for many years. It is supposed to work for nerve pain. I’m not always sure it is working because I haven’t gone off it for a period of time to see the difference. It’s not a horrible drug And may be worth a try

It's terrible to just cold quit. Consult w/ your medical provider if you decide to quit taking the med. It is also used as antidepressant.

Ive been taking cymbalta for over 15 years for fibromyalgia pain. Only side effect has been stomach irritation at 90 mg. We backed off to 60 mg, it does not stop all pain but it reduces it enough to manage daily household chores, travel, etc
