Muscle twitching and cold/stiffness in both legs.
I've had muscle twitching (primarily around my calfs) and cold/stiffness in both of my legs for almost a year. The twitching in my legs are an everyday occurrence, but occasionally I'll have twitching in my arms (mainly my biceps and deltoids) and sometimes on the right side of my neck. I've had doctors check the pulse in both of my feet, and that checked out fine. I've also had countless rounds of bloodwork drawn due to my liver enzymes being mildly elevated, ct scan on my abdomine and head, a HIDA scan, chest xrays, one lumbar xray go check for degenerative disks, EKG's, bloodwork to see if I had any clots, and tests to see if i was dehydrated or had any deficiencies, a colonospocy and endoscopy. All of these tests came back fine. Minus my liver enzymes. I also had a gnarly case of sunburn. I could barely move because my knees were so swollen. All within the past year. Curreny on 20mg of Lexapro and 20mg of Pantoprazole (twice a day). 28 Male, 195lbs, never had a medical problem until now.
At the beginning of the year I had a Oral Cancer scare. I'm a 28 year old male and I wasn't prepared to hear that news. Luckily, I had a tonsilectomy and the biopsy results came back negative for cancer. I was put on antibiotics after the surgery and my stomach didn't react very well to it. Severe stomach pain, GERD, and cramping in my colon was the main things that I experienced during this time. That's why I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Results showed that I only had mild gastritis.
Then my doctor wanted to see why my liver enzymes were mildly elevated ALT-133 AST-54. I've never been an alchohalic and might have a drink 3-5 times a year. I went through a ton of bloodwork, ultrasounds, and a HIDA scans. But my liver looked okay. Oddly enough, my bloodwork for last month showed normal enzyme levels and I have no idea what changed.
However, the twitching and cold legs started after the surgery. I would complain to my spouse that my feet and legs were cold and were turning a purplish color. I'd have to stretch and vigorously rub them just to get the blood flowing. And im having this problem as we speak..I've had lots of bloodwork and imaging tests done and idk what it could be at this point...I see my doctor Monday and I'm hoping she has some kind of an answer...but I've brought it up to her before. I don't want to say that she dismissed it, but at the time I think she was focused on other problems that I was having. Does anyone have any ideas or experiences with something like this? Or have a way that I can approach her about this problem? Because I have no clue if this is a circulatory issue or a neurological one.

Just a thought. When I was experiencing muscle twitching in my legs, someone suggested that my magnesium levels might be low. I began taking taking magnesium glycinate at night and it helped a lot.
My husband has had purple feet and toes off and on and was diagnosed with Reynaud Syndrome. Maybe you could discuss this possibility with your doctor. Best wishes!
