@mrb2 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.

It's never easy when we're waiting for results and answers, is it?! It's like we are scared to take the next breath, and believe me, we have all been there. It's normal to be worried, and feeling like things are not moving fast enough.

Not all neoplasms are cancer, as seen here in the definition of neoplasm from the National Cancer Institute: "An abnormal mass of tissue that forms when cells grow and divide more than they should or do not die when they should. Neoplasms may be benign (not cancer) or malignant (cancer). Benign neoplasms may grow large but do not spread into, or invade, nearby tissues or other parts of the body. Malignant neoplasms can spread into, or invade, nearby tissues. They can also spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems. Also called tumor."

Has your husband been in contact with his medical team, and heard their thoughts, yet? Has he been able to see the reports from the CT and MRI scans done?

@gingerw we have seen both the CT and mri. We go back in 3 weeks to see his surgeon after we repeat the ct and chest xray. Hoping for more answers after this appointment.
