Positive effects from restarting effexor

Posted by grammy11 @grammy11, Nov 19, 2022

I know everyone reacts differently but hoping to hear positive experiences. I just restarted effexor after tapering for 6 weeks and then restarting. I was completely off for 1 week and dr tried cipralex. The effects were not good. I was on 75 mg for 4 days and now trying 150. Anxiety and skin parathesia are not good, nor is mood. Also haven't slept well in 2 months. Anyone have positive feedback for restarting? I was on it for 11 years previously and will stick with it if it works.

I hope all goes well with your return to the drug that worked.

@sears

Why did you start tapering?

The old saying- I'm feeling good so maybe I can cut back from 75 to 37.5. Never again. It was like a miracle 11 years ago so I'm optimistic.

It has been my miracle for 25 years! GAD is rampant in my family and so is PD . There is a genetic link so all the prevention available I will take! And since women can produce as much as 52% less serotonin than men , my whole family is grateful I went on this decades ago! Bravo to you! My mother refused and had terrible PD and a terrible attitude for decades!

Thanks for this. I increased to 150 mg (day 4) and so far so good. I really want to feel like I did for 11 years and I'm hopeful that I'm heading in the right direction.

Sounds good! I take a 75 time released at 8 am rolling out of bed and 3 pm for the second! Spacing is the key for me as there is no down time so even distribution 24 hrs. My script reads 3 a day if needed so when super stress happens which honestly is rare, I am good! Happy for you!

I have insomnia right now from the effexor and a rushing feeling through my body; I sure hope that gets better.

I take Relaxium…2 a night…..all natural and drink Sleepytime tea. maybe you don’t need the 2nd pill or it needs to be the 37 instead of 75.

I had a rough 2 months trying to get back on and decided to take 150 instead of 75 (with help from dr). I actually took myself to the hospital to get help. I know I have to give it time. It's not easy but necessary. I'll try the tea tonight before bed. Thanks

I will keep you in my prayers! You are reminding all of us on it to be grateful enough to not get off! I would hate to lose the happiness I have because of it! You will figure it out! Where there’s a will there’s a way!!!👍🙏
