I was Just diagnosed about 2 weeks ago with Type 2 diabetes, Nov ‘22, after being very ill for 2 weeks. I’ve lost 15 pounds.
The doctors believe Covid brought mine on, and I’ve yet to find a diet that would work with my Lactose Allergy ( not intolerance). No dietician advice yet. I don’t know what to buy and I’m scared to eat because of the pains In my stomach. Keeping to soft bland foods.

How could I find the diet you described?

I am to start the Type 2 Ozempic shots in a couple of weeks, when the doctor is available.
I do hope you start feeling better and get your sugars back in range for you.

I believe the best player for you along with your endocrinologist is your dietitian. He/she can guide you on a diet that should be safe for you. Mayo Clinic has a good assortment of dietitians designed especially for you or you can choose outside of Mayo. Wherever you go, have a team of docs in play such as your PCP and endocrinologist. I, personally, am getting acupuncture who also has a Ph.D. in Immunology from Vanderbilt. There is help out there for your disease, and be sure you check your lab tests frequently.
