Wow, that could have been written by me a year ago! They send you home right after surgery with a note that says "resume normal diet tomorrow" - but they took away part of your digestive system -the bile pump. And if you were like me, you weren't eating a normal diet before surgery because of your issues.

After a couple of days of nausea, I figured out I needed to eat small amounts of non-fatty foods several times a day. Think half an apple, half a protein drink, a handful of crackers. Soup was my friend. It took about 3-4 months before I was eating a light meal at a sitting, and another 3 months before I could eat 3 ounces of beef or pork in a meal. A year later, I still don't digest fat well enough to eat 2 eggs or a moderate steak in one meal. My liver has only reluctantly taken over the gall bladder's job.
If cutting way back doesn't help, it's time to call the doctor - you may need a dietician consult, especially if you have any other issues like diabetes.
Have you asked the surgeon or your doc about what you are experiencing?
Sue
