adjustable bed

I have L5 S1 problems with expensive leg pain. I am considering purchasing an adjustable bed to release my back pain. Has anyone tried this?

@spadgera Have you tried using lots of pillows and wedges, etc? There are some cushions to elevate the legs that you can get for a bed if you are sleeping on your back. A physical therapist might be able to suggest where to get this. One other thought I had was to search for hotels with adjustable beds so you can try it before you buy it. There are some hotel chains that offer this so you can test it and see if it helps.

I hate to be a walking billboard but I have to admit that a girlfreind bought a sleep number bed with an adjustable base. In 60 years never slept so good. We broke up and since then I have not had a good nights sleep like that. I went on vacation and the hotel used those beds and slept like a log. You ask why I dont buy one and I would but spent 4000.00 on my temperpedic a few months before she bought the sleep number. If I knew then what i know now i would of invested in a sleep number bed. We spend more time in bed than anywhere else and we all deserve a good nights sleep.

Forgot to mention this but an adjustable base will not do anyone any good if the mattress that you sleep in is bad.

I have a Serta Tempur-Pedic and love it. Had it for yrs. I cannot sleep flat anymore as I had neck and back problems. Also, able to raise foot of bed too, which I like.
