Prolozone injections

Yes, I’ve asked my PCP and chiropractor for referrals but neither of them have even heard of prolozone injections. The chiropractor who suggested them to me did so over a live q&a zoom and said it should be easy to find a provider. Unfortunately I have not found it easy at all.

What is PRP? Any recommendations on where to find a provider?

@frdunbar - PRP is platelet-rich plasma. I tried to get it prior to my knee replacement but my surgeon said my knee was too far gone and it wouldn't help. Here's some more info on the pros and cons of PRP.

I think if I were going to get one I would want it to be done at a teaching hospital or a major health facility like Mayo Clinic.

platelet rich plasma....They take blood out, spin it, and reinject it with dense platelet content. It is offered in a mainstream hospital system here but insurance still considers it experimental so we paid $1,000. She had it done on SI joint and later for knee. Better than surgery for her (she has had two). But it does not work for everyone and only for soft tissue issues.

I’ve tried Prolotherapy I was wondering about the Proloozone?

I didn’t get help from Prolotherapy but I learned after trying it and all the other treatments that I really have to limit my sitting in order for that area to heal properly. I did a ton of PT following all the treatments. I did get a little relief after radial shockwave therapy so I may try another round along with PT now that I know that sitting for more than one hour at a time is a problem. I didn’t try Prolozone, partly due to the higher cost.

bad osteoarthritis in right knee. twisted it on stairs, badly sprained, now too painful to weight bear or walk on it. considering prolozone injections. Dr Martin Mulders outside of Philadelphia does them. any additional negative or positive info?

Do u mean prolotherapy? If so, yes, it really helped both my knees.

My daughter had prolozone injections a number of years ago due to a disc issue causing her much pain. The only thing offered to her was surgery which she rejected. She found out about prolozone and did 6 injections over a 6 month period. And it worked amazingly well for her. She hasn’t had a problem or return of pain in over 10 years and was able to get back to running and weight lifting. The doctor she went to was in Marin County, outside San Francisco.
