Do you know what type of ataxia you were diagnosed with?
There is episodic and progressive Ataxia.
I’ve only had one episode of ataxia. I walked up to the steps to see a friend. I tried to step up onto the steps, but I couldn’t move either foot up when I tried to turn off to the right to go back to my car, I couldn’t move to the right. Fortunately, I could turn to the left, but I could only go in left hand circles. Eventually, someone saw me and came out and took pity on me and led me to my car and I drove to the hospital where I was admitted.
I believe there are a couple types associated with Dementia.
Do you have balance problems or any other symptoms?

Mostly balance problems. Been evaluated for Parkinson's and undergone numerous scans and MRIs. I have motion differences between my right and left hand l and I can do most things. My neurologist seems to be less forthcoming with the course of my disease. I am a retired RN and realize no one can predict how I will progress....but he hasn't even mentioned if this progression is a possibility. Thanks for the ataxia.or info. I've already started viewing some of the convention discussions.
