I had my port in today, 2 more scans Wednesday. Then Oncologist on Monday to talk about treatment. I start chemo on the 28th, having a rough time dealing with whole thing.

It is scary and a road of lots of unknowns. I hope you find some support and hope in these comments and I hope that you have a good support system to help hold you up throughout the process. As hard as it might seem a positive attitude and a great support system will help you through it. Sending you lots of support and prayers.

They did but unfortunately Doug had a “leak” and was rehospitalized and then developed blood clots so he missed the window of opportunity for the immunotherapy. If the timing would have been better our oncologist was supporting it for Doug.

How is your mother progressing?

She had her first dose of immuno last week.
Tired and scared it might come back …
She take 2 TOMS before going to bed and it helps with the night reflux.
Im scared I have to say that it will come back.

Finally all my scans are finished, just waiting on results. Started protein bars to help maintain my weight. I wish I could feel more positive about this.

You have to stay positive.
Stress and negativity doesn’t help. Try boosts and add protein powder to juices for exemple. It will be a journey but it will be ok.

i can understand your fear-i went for pet scan yesterday and my results at 430pm was that my esophageal cancer is at stage 2-so it did not spread from tumor to any other organs-i start chemo (once a week) on 11/23/2023 and i start radiation (5 times a week) on 11/21 FOR SIX WEEKS UNTIL 1/3/2023...2 to 4 weeks later i have a 7 hr surgery to remove tumor...oncologist is confident of a 50 to 70% chance of curing-THERE IS A PLAN-that makes the fear less overwhelming-my job is to stay active (walk, workout, ect), get 90 grams of protein a day, meditate, pray, REST......most of all believe that my oncology team will do their best to help me get through this--acceptance is the key, but that is a goal of mine-i am not there yet-BUT I AM DETERMINED ...
