Thank you
I was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer in April. Was admitted to the hospital and began Folfox chemotherapy regimen. I have completed around 14 rounds of chemo (every two weeks) and am able to eat regular meals, walk four mikes a day, and do some light exercise. A far cry from the initial status, when I could not eat and lost 30 pounds. Get a good oncologist, follow the treatment protocol, and do what you can to help the treatments do their job. Eat small meals, stay hydrated, and try to exercise. Feel free to reach out with any questions; I’m rooting for you!
So far I have only heard from the nurse. Her comment was "The biopsy was not obvious, the lab had to cut it up & dye it". I do not know what that means.
The biopsy extracted samples of the suspected tissues. These need to be sliced, dyed, and put on slides so they can be evaluated to determine whether the cells are cancerous. Hoping for the best for you!
I have it currently find out as much as you can about it will help in decision making.Remember God will get you thru this seek him out.He has blessed me with no side effects from either chemo or radiation will be praying for you.Rik
I finally seen the biopsy today. Surgeon was his cheerful self, esophagus was normal except for mass. I have 5 1cm lesions on my liver, which makes stage 4. So far only in esophagus & liver, Oncologist is optimistic the liver can be dealt with.
I would like to thank the people here for helping me understand what is going on.
Hello,
How is the liver heal ? Chemo? Immuno?
My mom was stage3 - the surgery removed everything but immunotherapy for a year to prevent recurrence.
Thank you
The Oncologist is starting with chemo to shrink the lesions. When their small enough she plans on 1 biopsy, then "zapping" the rest to remove them from the liver.
Hello Dave - how are you?
I would like to know if you were stage 2 or 3 ?
Does immuno was proposed.
Thank you so much
Naomi
