What did you do to help radiation burn?

I was having an awful time dealing with radiation burns from breast cancer treatment. My son (a motorcycle nut) had burns on his legs from a minor wreck. He had some 1% silver sulfadiazine cream that his doctor prescribed for those burns. He knew that I was a bit off (actually, more than a bit off) from the burns and said, "Mom, try this." Yes, I do know about using someone else's prescription. But I was desperate. And it worked - and worked quickly. If I encountered this condition again, I would ask my doc for a prescription.

This is an old post and I hope you found something that helped. I am replying because someone else who needs this advice may see it. I had significant burns after radiation to my breast and my daughter found the perfect remedy. She cut a leaf off the aloe vera plant, split it open and scraped all the insides of it onto a piece of gauze and put it over my breast. It was instant relief for me. She did this every two to three hours for the first two to three days and by the fourth a new skin had formed. It was the such a gentle and painless healing and did not cost anything 🙂
