@saucy, Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a type of lymphoma that can develop around breast implants. BIA-ALCL occurs most frequently in patients who have breast implants with textured surfaces. As you stated, BIA-ALCL is not a type of breast cancer, but rather a cancer of the immune system.
I have an encapsulated breast that is becoming painful. Got the implants in 1992, Recently had a ultra sound and mammogram and shows still intact however and now have swollen lymph nodes and had an ultrasound and shows a thickening in my neck nodes. I see my doctor today but now my armpits are sore especially the side of the breast. Not sure if she would know how to diagnose this? How is it diagnosed if this is a concern?

No, I live in a place where doctors are hard to come by! Oncologist is supposed to call me back but it's been 3 days and no call back. Called surgeon, he's supposed to get back to me! Very frustrating!
