About to start Prolia: What's your experience?

Your right hip score is just over the line and your spine is not osteoporotic. Have you discussed with a doc the possibility of taking a break and doing some more "natural" methods for maintenance? I am pro-med for osteoporosis but I wonder if, with scores that are not severe, if there is another path for you, at least temporarily. (I am buying a hip pad protector for snow and ice, even on Tymlos!)

Thank you I see my endocrinologist on Wednesday. In the past my numbers did not improve. Prolia was suggested by another endocrinologist at Johns Hopkins and my PCP .I decided to stick with Fosamax for 2 more years . That was my choice . . They will follow your request, but what is the best ?
I needed to ask for treatment options. A plan . Maybe a holiday.

Not by choice, but I went 14 years with osteoporosis and no meds. Long story. Those years included 5 years on cancer meds that increase bone loss. I am finally on Tymlos. To be honest, I can't even hope for scores like yours! You have done a great job preventatively. I wonder if taking Reclast, which lasts longer in the body, could enable you to take a break. I don't really know but maybe you could ask-? Good luck! ps tai chi kept me a little safer for a long time

I am sorry you went through this. I try to stay positive. I am working on my acceptance. It is very difficult at times. I was thinking of tai chi .
How are you doing on Tymlos? I was going to ask her about that. I had neck surgery at 43. . The neurologist at that tike said my inside are like I am 80 . I see what he means now. Not to get into it but they believe my bone loss is cortisone related. I am not sure if Reclast is do able now since I was on Fosamax 5 years. The same family of drugs. I believe you need a drug holiday to continue this family.

Natural help… I have advanced Osteo… look up MiraCalton! Encourage me! I’m starting this week soon as I receive my products! I’m in bed broke back n ribs…. Best part 11 months! I now have been in bed BUT NOW HAVE HOPE! hope pass this on please with God and giving my body what it needs to heal I’m looking forward to getting young healthy bones again, slowly but surly!!😄😄🙏🌺💕

@hope19118 Tymlos has gone well for me but I started at two out of 8 clicks on the pen and have stayed on 7.

So glad you ok and no back broken! Mira Calton had advanced Osteo at age 30 no fractures, found before bone broke. In 2 years she reversed advanced Osteo. Mine is advanced I’m 70 female. I should get products. Natural nutrients, vitamins, collagen ….. they have patented pure products third party tested! Jayson her husband, was her doctor and now her husband, a team. With God prayer clothes and giving my body what it requires will help my body do what God created it to do. Also my diet will change! I’ll do what it takes for my body to do it’s part! I should get my products by Thursday. I should start feeling better…body and bones.... it took years to get here… but I look for improvements faster in Jesus name! Will post how it goes….
