Suboxone Strips
I have a very poor tolerance for aspirin and tylenol. Both make me feel terrible which is not a good thing as I already may be feeling that way due to terrible headaches that I get with Lyme relapses. The headache is so bad that I am not functional and take to my bed for days. I tried a small amount of methadone given by a friend and was shocked, surprised, and so relieved when the headache disappeared. But getting my own prescription has so far been impossible. A friend gave me a few Suboxone strips . I need to try Suboxone to see its effects before I commit to use during a crisis. I can't think at all when I am not well. BTW I don't have an addictive personality and I am not at all concerned about that aspect. I just need to avoid severe pain and so far cannot find a prescriber.

There is no “off-label” accepted practice for Suboxone which is why it is specifically intended for addiction treatment. The other concern is for the person who gave up their strip of pills, what will they substitute for their missing med? This is not a medication to take lightly and certainly not intended to treat a headache where the treatment could mask more serious illness! Also check out buprenorphine https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4675640/ of which Suboxone is very similar in chemical makeup but buprenorphine is meant to treat chronic pain and addiction in certain formulations. Good luck and be safe.
Yeah it's no fun and frankly the first five days I took it all my pain went away but day 6 to 11 has been nothing but side effects. At day 15 I'm done, doctor is going to work with me or I'm going to get mad. Played the guinea pig game, if I want to get high I smoke some weed.
Day 5 I cut my pill in half because I was concerned about being loopy at work and it's like you said you're body is quickly dependent on it. It is scary for what quickly really means. Half a pill at work after a full pill every twelve hours for five days and I felt like I quit taking it altogether. Severe withdrawals and I was thinking what the heck. Like I said, day 15 I'm done and if he shuts me down for a pill change I will stop cold turkey with likely time off from work because this will likely be as bad as cold turkey OxyContin twenty years ago.
Once I was switched from morphine to buprenorphine and cannabis became legal I obviously tried it. After one year of trial and error I use a combination of cannabis tincture higher in CBD 4x day, RSO oil I put into capsules 3x day and I micro dose throughput the day with vapes. I no longer get buzzed but other than the buprenorphine I no longer need oxycodone for breakthrough pain. For me it means controlled pain tolerance. I still have pain, leg cramps, foot cramps, PN symptoms, etc. but I walk 2 miles or more everyday to stay healthy and stretch 2x day. I have a daily routine to fight the process.
That's really good. What is RSO oil and how does it work for you? I recently noticed my THC tolerance is raising up too but I can still get high just need a bit more. The vape used to take 3 seconds, now I can take 7 seconds plus and feel the same at 3 seconds when I started. Still like flower though, just trying not to expand too much equipment or wife is going to get mad.
RSO=Rick Simpson Oil named after its inventor who was of the original stoners who cultivated Humbolt County, Ca into a cannabis capital in the 1960-1970’s. An entire plant is flash frozen to create RSO and you’ll find detailed info here. https://www.wikileaf.com/thestash/rick-simpson-oil/
I buy my own clear capsules on Amazon and buy the RSO higher in CBD than typically seen in vapes. I fill the capsules once a month or you can buy them prefilled at dispensaries. It’s an additional tool to help me stay away from oxycodone, permits me to tolerate my pain causing activities like cooking. I don’t get buzzed any longer which is ok with me.
Interesting. I will surely read your link, thanks. Yeah, I look forward to not getting high in the future due to tolerance because I believe keeping it in your system without getting high is still beneficial.
The headache that I would be treating is not affected positively by using any OTC meds. It is a severe headache that puts me in bed that I suffer about 2X annually and is likely related to brain inflammation-a result of chronic Lyme. Buprenorphine is likely a better alternative but getting a prescription for it has not yet been possible. How would you go about getting a prescription? A pain clinic? A DO? An MD?
Can you explain the "cannabis tincture higher in CBD"?
Is that homemade or can you purchase it?
You need to find a pain specialist who prescribes it. Look for Pain Medicine treatment and/or a rehab physician who prescribes it. A special license or certificate is necessary to prescribe it for pain. Look for an MD or DO I feel might be best bet unless you find an NP who practices with a group. It is possible and has gotten easier to find but worth it.
