Constant Ear Pressure and Tinitus

Posted by rfhami @rfhami, Sep 25, 2022

I have seen 4 ENT Doctors all of which have not found any answer for me. All tests show my ears look healthy and normal. However I have the constant feeling of pressure in the middle ear, tinitus (loud!), and the need to blow my nose all the time.
I cannot relieve the pressure. The Doctor assures me it is not Eustachian tube dysfunction or Otitis.
So any ideas!? If anyone can help with even what the name of this might be I would appreciate it so much.

I just deleted my long response/comment... a year ago discovered eagle syndrome and asked dentist if had it, no he said without even checking into and had no family dr at the time. Now have nurse practitioner and her knowledge is limited, young, not patience with seniors; and referrals to specialists here take one or two years if not life threatening. Actually, feel like giving up searching, researching, trying to find solutions on my own at age 79 in 2 days, and ill... enough is enough sometimes and with other issues wish I could fade into the sunset as my overall health is not good, and I feel useless after a very busy and productive life, and always did believe in quality vs quantity. Yes, really down today.... sometimes even when the sun is shining, it is very dark in my life. I admire all those who are dealing with illness even worse than mine and still can remain positive, bless you.

I had the same thing as you , myringotomy without tubes . I have had so much trouble with my eustachian tube the ENT did this procedure 9 days ago and I wish I hadn't done this. I'm stopped up on the left ear and ringing. The doctor says it will go away once the hole closes.
Are you any better since your posting
Thank you

May sound crazy but have your teeth checked. I've been trying to figure out what was wrong w my sinuses (one side). It's taken over a year to discover I have an abscessed tooth. Mine is upper tooth in the very back. It had a crown on it a few years ago. It was never really painful, sometimes a bit sensitive. Found out that CT scans of the head/sinuses won't show it that infection. I had to have a special X-ray (Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) 3D scans) to detect the problem. They were done by an endodontist. I actually have missing bone where the infection ate thru it and it didn't show on a regular CT scan. Right now I have tinnitus in that ear which I bet will resolve as soon as my dental/sinus infection is cleared up.
