Strontium will make your bones look denser on the DEXA than they are, because it is a denser mineral than calcium.
For bone-building, I am doing Tymlos, which has a pen that allows adjusting the dose. So I started low and moved up to minimize side effects. Tymlos also improves bone quality, I have beent old.
Forteo and Evenity also build bone. I do not know your DEXA or fracture situation or what your insurance covers but I have read that strontium is slower and gentler, may have cardiovascualr side effects (not sure if that is from the ranelate). If you need help more quickly you could consider those meds if insurance covers them. Tymlos also has a patient assistance program.
