GI Disorder and Internal Shaking
Hi all. I'm a 21 year old South Asian female and I have been having GI issues for about five years--mainly along the lines of constipation. I do have bowel movements every day but it takes a long time & I am rarely fully cleared out. These GI issues are always accompanied by other health issues (gas, pressure in head, etc). Recently, some scary new conditions have manifested: In the past few weeks, there have been times where my heart starts beating wildly and very fast. Sometimes, when I'm tired and constipated, my entire body feels like its vibrating internally; the shakes aren't visible but it feels like all my muscles are quivering. At this point, I feel a constant shaking/quivering within my body, especially in my heart cavity.
I have had TWO EKG's and both came back normal. All lab tests for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, etc came back within normal limits. I am very concerned about this internal shaking. My dad says he found something about how GI disorders can impact muscoskeletal system and since the heart is a muscle, it's contracting and being affected. But I wanted to know if anyone here can help!!!!!!! If anyone knows anything at all please please please let me know!!!!!

Goodness, how awful to have those GI symptoms. My opinion is that you do not have enough of the digestive enzymes and HCL required are causing these problems. Severe stress or ongoing pain or Celiac Disease can cause the pancreas to not produce the required enzymes. And HCL production slows as we age. I take a prescription digestive enzyme called Pertze. Insurance does not cover them and they are pricy. I would order some high strength Digestive Enzymes and HCL or visit a supplement shop for them. Take a few bites of food then take one. Eat a good bit more then take another. Take two HCL’s in the middle of your big meals. Do not drink water until an hr after you eat because you don’t want to dilute the enzymes or HCL. And you must chew your food into a fine mush before you swallow it bc Ptylin is a digestive enzyme in your saliva that gets digestion going. Don’t watch tv while you eat. Just soft gentle music bc you must be in the Parasympathetic (relaxing) part of your nervous system in order to digest your food. And don’t eat foods your body reacts adversely to! Avoid spicy hot seasoning!

been suffering from internal shaking and tremors during nights since 2019. Was waking in the middle of sleep with high blood pressure and heart beating . Well the pulse was mosly 90 but I felt it very strongly, even during day I tolerate such pulse. And the vibrations, they stopped after the gas was going out. I was searching and getting nervous as doctors did not give me the answers. I believe it really was connected with gas, food I ate and daily stress, lack of sleep ( night breastfeeding, babies etc) and of course it might be certain viruses, bacteria. The more I was concerned , the more it got severe.
What helped me a lot of course 1. change of the lifestyle - learned to meditate that helped me not to get scared at night when those internal shakings were happening, it helped to accept that and live through it and notice myself during the day what my daily actions can cause that (too much work, too much things I do not want to to that day) 2. and of course food - I started avoiding food which caused any gas. And I drank lots of Calendula tea (I grow it myself) . If I wake up at night shaky, I boil Calendula tea, sometimes 2-3 cups and massage the stomach. and I could go back to sleep till the morning without waking up. As befre I was waking every two hours with shaking. Calendula is good for control blood pressure, diggestive system, and calms you down. Sometimes dried young birch tree leaves teas (it's a natural duretic), so it's also controls blood pressure (one of my findings that this shakiness is also connected with blood pressure (mine the lower position was usually increased during night shakiness, during day normal). 3. supplements B vitamins, Zink, probiotics.
I believe it is very important to stop looking for answers why we are getting this shakiness (it makes us more nervous about it) accept it and look for healing . Vibrating boody just tells us, that we lived that day too stressfully, we neglected our needs, we consumed wrong food, etc. Hoppully, it helped someone. And do not forget to try Calendula tea. It is not harmful to use everyday. It might help you.

@gigiraj One of my friends is suffering the same as you now. I'd like to know your current health status. Are you feeling better? What kind of treatments did you have?

Btw, I am from Myanmar. Here, healthcare system is not as advance as your country.

Thank you so much for this post and for the vitamin suggestions. I am having lots of internal shaking, too, which I have attributed to PTSD anxiety and panic attacks. But I also have a number of intestinal problems - born celiac (tho now gluten free), lactose intolerance, colitis and diverticulities, constipation, fatty liver (the newest diagnosis) and bowel urgency (just to name a few!) Finding a diet that accounts for all of this has been impossible. Like you, I find that intermittent fasting and lots and lots of fluids helps (though I'm still fat!) But now I find your vitamin suggestions very interesting. I will ask my GI doctor to look at this website and help me understand what might be best for me. I am very, very grateful...

I have the exact same symptom you describe - "internal vibrations/tremors" likely associated with colon spasms I believe. they started a few years ago and would wake me up in the middle of the night and last for 1-2 hours.. now they are constant, and seem to be aggravated by choice of foods - specifically dairy/dairy derivatives, and enriched bread, fruit in general, raw vegetables (those seem to be the goods/ingredients with the worst effects - thinking it could be cellulose gum in enriched bread that leads to especially painful episodes). If I eat anyone of those, I get dull pain in the abdomen, tension headaches/head pressure, stiff/sore neck, dizziness, intense fatigue, blurry vision and pressure on eyes, nausea, joint pain mostly around hips, etc..which can last for up to 3-4 days. Ibuprofen doesn't doesn't help much or at all, I just have to ride it out, and I have to immediately revert to liquid diet or to what I know works for me (simple chicken subway sandwiches). My doctors have diagnosed me with IBS a while back but that's all they can figure out, all my other tests look good, except non-specific inflammation (high ESR/sedimentation rate, and high CRP/c-reactive protein) and mild high blood pressure.
I would like to find out if anyone else is in a similar situation and has found solutions to mitigate such episodes, as I'm unsure of who to turn to for help.
