@colleenyoung Actually, I am confused why this was transplanted. My questions are about lingering negative impacts of an upper endoscopy that was performed at a hospital in Thailand - including sore throat, throat discomfort/swelling, and impact on swallowing. Placing my post as a sub-comment of someone who had no endoscopy... doesn't seem like it's going to help.

Hi @lkwilliam, I was wondering if it might have had something to do with the type of anesthetic used or the size of the endoscope. Here's an article from 2020 on the topic that you might find helpful:
