Plantar Fasciitis: How did you get rid of it?

Posted by peggyn @peggyn, Jun 22, 2019

I don't know if this is where this should be posted, but I have a few questions. Almost seems like it goes hand and hand with neuropathy.

Have you had it and how did you get rid of it. I have done 2 injections.. I use ice and ice bottle almost nightly, I've massaged, I've purchased special shoes, and I've worn compression sleeves, plus I've done the night splint.. It just won't go away. I know it's because of the atrophy on that calf.
If you've had it please share what worked for you to get rid of it.

I have Achilles tendinitis, which has similar discomfort to plantar fasciitis. The common denominator is that they are painful and take a very long time to heal. My Achilles is not ruptured or torn, and I have had 8 or 9 months of PT, which o has helped to some degree. I have also been to a bone and joint specialist/surgeon who said I should use a CBD cream or oil, as there was nothing he could do unless I rupture it. The CBS cream, heel lifts, supportive shoes, stretching and compression socks seem to be helping.

Mine got so bad, after 7 months of suffering, an MRI was ordered. The only solution was Plantar Fascia Release surgery. Completely resolved my problems. This was after trying injections, etc, which did not help.

I have high arches. If I try to get way with walking around the house without supportive shoes my PF comes screaming back.
I have chosen to wear those “ugly”Crocs shoes, but I buy the ones that are all bright and colorful…they, and shoes by Vionic are very good for me.

As a slow marathon runner, I had plantar fasciitis several times, once for many months. The absolute cure **for me** was yoga, specifically staying long enough in downward dog to release heels, calves, hamstrings, hips, and low back. It's never come back, in 10 years.

I tried everything that has been previously mentioned. I finally went to a certified acupuncturist and 3 treatments and it was gone. Also never walk barefoot

Hello!

I used the therapy boots (they look like ski boots). It took a long time to finally get rid of it. Months not weeks.

I hoe you are feeling better soon.

I've had relief with wearing the Thermoskin Plantar FXT at night. If my Plantar Fasciitis starts acting up, I just use it again. It stops the plantar fascia from contracting overnight.

Interestingly, and acknowledging first that we all are different, I thrive on walking barefoot, and in shoes with zero heel elevation when I do wear shoes.

I respect your practices of walking without support but that is not recommended for people with planters Factitious
