Dealing with long COVID and COVID pneumonia
Hello everyone, so I started feeling sick around dec 16th, self quarantined until the 22nd only to test positive for covid it’s been a rollercoaster since then. I ended up in the er on dec 31st due to shortness of breath, back and chest pain ( I am vaccinated as well) after a chest x ray I was told I had a mild case of covid in my lungs but not to worry so they sent me home with prednisone, and albuterol inhaler. FF to Jan 8th I woke up and couldn’t take a deep breath with chest and back pain and after using the inhaler and taking a nebulizer treatment and neither worked I ended up back in the er where once again I received a chest x ray, prednisone and ketorolac for pain/inflammation. This time the dr told me that I had pneumonia in my lungs but it was still mild and sent me home with the same scripts as before. I tested positive on the 22nd of dec, the 31st and Jan 6th. Since then I’ve had diarrhea at least twice a week accompanied by slight headaches and my insides are shaky some days. I’m really at a lost and don’t know what to do. Can anyone give me some insight on this please and thank you.

Thank you all the help you have offered! I have to wait til mid October for my Mayo appointments. Until then I’ll look into the information you gave me. I’m excited to read it!
We are fortunate to be 1 1/2 hour from Mayo by car.
I caught COVID pneumonia in 2021 and was hospitalized then again 6 months later but that time it wasn’t bad then again later and now again. I feel so tired and weak. I went to the er they tested me and this was Wednesday and told me I could go back to work on Monday. Right now I’m wondering how cause I hurt all over and I’m extremely exhausted and winded. My job is irritated with me cause I’m out but I did ask to be sick.
I wish I new what to tell you but I don’t I’m struggling with this constantly also. I think they should keep u in the hospital til the pneumonia clears up. Find a pulmonologist when u can also
By the way I was told by a Dr at the Er coronavirus and COVID are different I had no idea but since I’ve had both in the last month I could tell them they are exactly the same with symptoms and body aches and fever. Scientists/and doctors don’t know how it feels unless they had it well I did I have the paperwork to prove it along with RSV and its extremely exhausting and miserable and my body is tired and I want to get well
