Yes I faithfully did all pre- and post-op exercises and still do them along with resistance training at the Fittness club. It is not an issue of quad strength. It may be a nerve that was severed during surgery or coming from my lumbar stenosis. Hopefully an EMG will shed light in the source.

I have lumbar problems due to arthritis and spondyolosis and had surgery about 10 years ago. No fusion either. That may be the culprit with you. Symptoms are different. I didn't have weakness but a lot of pain standing. I think the procedure I had was a laminotomy. There was a ruptured disc at L5/S1 that had to be removed, and arthritis spurs that were removed by drilling access holes in S1, L5, and L4.
