What causes Clicking or Popping in Throat when Swallowing?

HI I been having the same issue since last month. I throw up real bad during my cycle every month. LAst month idk what happened by afterwards i started having this clicking noise in my throat and difficult to swallow. I went to the ER and they did a CT scan and gave me antibotics. Now when I swallow I get alot of belching. If I turn my head to the right the clicking is not as bad. It feels worse when i wake up in the mornings. Im afaid this month if i vomit again its gonna make things worse. Did you ever find a solution?

You mentioned going to the ER, did you followup with your primary care doctor or other specialist?

I have an appt this week w the ENT doctor. Hopefully I get some answers.

Was the tooth abscess causing the clicking noise?

I am in Thailand. I have had chronic dyspepsia for months. I could not afford international hospital fees, so I had the upper endoscopy performed at the leading local hospital. The doctor was young and inexperienced, and the procedure did not go smoothly. My sore throat has persisted for more than a week. Two days ago, I was rubbing the larynx area where it was sore (my mistake) and that made it worse. Now I feel clicking sometimes when I swallow. Also, occasionally I feel pricks of cramping in the abodomen, perhaps from where the biopsies were taken.

I assume that even if the endoscopy was poorly done, my body will heal eventually. The issues do seem to be becoming more mild over time. Even if there were serious damage, I don't have the financial resources to do much about it.

I was wondering if anyone might be able to offer some perspective. My follow-up is in two weeks. I will receive test results concerning the dyspepsia then. I am just posting now about the problems that have resulted from the endoscopy.

Thanks, Colleen. It's also the case that my throat has been sore since the endoscopy and still is. That has been the main ongoing symptom which was compounded by the throat now feeling swollen/present when I swallow. I can also feel the "wind" of the breath at the bottom of my throat when I breathe - it's sensitive in that area. I am not sure if this information will help with finding the proper place for this post?

@colleenyoung Actually, I am confused why this was transplanted. My questions are about lingering negative impacts of an upper endoscopy that was performed at a hospital in Thailand - including sore throat, throat discomfort/swelling, and impact on swallowing. Placing my post as a sub-comment of someone who had no endoscopy... doesn't seem like it's going to help.

Thanks for reaching out to me @johnbishop . I took a look at this study.

One of the two numbing agents used was a spray that caused a burning sensation (as the nurse said it would). It seems like this might indeed connect to the sore throat, because the level and sensation of soreness has remained constant since the procedure (two weeks ago), not getting better day by day, and it feels similar to the kind of sensation the agent caused. But I have no real knowledge or experience on which to base a judgment.

My main concern is less the soreness, which is mild enough, and more that some damage to the mechanics of my throat has been done, perhaps in part due to the inexperience of the doctor. (I am in Thailand and she was clearly a relative novice.) I am referring to the *ongoing sensation of swelling/bulging,* *the feeling a lump in the throat when swallowing,* etc. (It's hard for me to know the right words to describe - maybe just say it feels abnormal and uncomfortable).
