Thanks for your response. More to think about. As with any medication it's always a challenge to find the balance between the help it provides and side effects. At some point I would like to imagine not taking this med but haven't started down that road yet. Have had limited success with halving the dosage. From my understanding trazodone is not physically addictive but my experience has been there is a psychological dependence. Would be interested in hearing more about this. Thanks

My pharmacist told me that whether or not to taper off Trazodone depends on how long and how frequently you've taken it. Some people only take it occasionally. I was up to 100-125/mg a day so tapered down over a period of about 4 weeks. You can call your pharmacist for advice, or do an on-line search.

Have you tried supplementing with magnesium. I find it helps with constipation. If you decide to buy, get the 200mg but I recommend taking one capsule instead of the suggested 2capsule on the bottle instructions. Best to take it in the evening around 7-8pm.
