Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?

Posted by redladyjoni @redladyjoni, Nov 26, 2018

I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

My son feels like there is a raft or excavator constantly moving the house and recently had episodes where he thinks he is falling but laying down then has a panic attack. White matter disease

Pain everywhere, swelling, numbness & tingling mostly in my legs and feet, extreme fatigue, vision and speech issues, trouble walking and balance is off, constipation and urgency to urinate to the point that I sometimes have accidents. I can't think straight most of the time, trying to type this is difficult. We have a Mayo Clinic here in Wisconsin, it's about three hours north from where I am in Janesville, WI. I have to change my HMO come October in order to see a specialist there.

You are the same as me except for thumb twitch. I also have bad sciatica. I wonder is it my heart?

Yes I have internal vibrations. They cause a lot of concern for people with Fibromyalgia. They are caused by the Central Nervous System.

I have internal vibrations, but I have multiple sclerosis. Mine occur mainly when falling asleep or as I am waking. They’ve also awakened me in the night. From what I have read, they aren’t harmful and may have something to do with the central nervous system. That would make sense in my situation since MS is a central nervous system disorder.

@lemartin417 Hello there. Thank you for joining the conversation about vibrations and sharing your experience.

You and @irr4et both mention the central nervous system. So true, the CNS is responsible and whether it's MS, CSS, Covid long-haul or other disorders, vibrations are annoying and worrysome, but luckily not harmful.

I have an overactive CNS due to central sensitization and neuropathy. I find progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness and deep breathing to be helpful. What do you find helpful to get your through vibration flares? Do you use stress-management tools?

I am on an anti-seizure medication 75 mgs three times/day and that quiets them. But I don’t recommend that anyone start one of these meds unless they plan to stay on it for life. I believe a Benzodiazapam would reduce them also but they are addictive and not good for the brain if used regularly.

..similar with me but started 2018 when went off some anxiety meds (too long story for here); and also got p.n. after a quinolone drug for uti and when i asked neurologist about the internal shaking he said "essential tremour" but that diagnosis over Zoom re covid and office closed. Sometimes wake up and feel vibrations down spine as if the bed is vibrating and it isn't - very subtle and as someone says, no pain there... but it is for some reason unnerving as anything we have no control over. I have been on Clonazepam 15-20 yrs. and agree, it is very hard to stop taking but was given to me for sleep not tremors... no one told me it was addictive and in those days I didn't have computer to check or a site like this one.. if it was just this to contend with but on top of many other medical issues it's worrisome... someone mentions white matter in brain and I think i saw that on copy of mri of head a few years ago, but keep forgetting to check that out.... having multiple issues is such a pain as overlap!

I just joined this forum so am a little late on commenting, but I have had internal vibrations for 3-4 months. Both my psychiatrist and my primary care physician say it is anxiety. I've seen a neurologist for tests of other types of pain and she didn't even comment on the internal vibrations, but then she doesn't comment on much of anything. I have them pretty much everywhere, but fortunately not all at once. They seem to move around.
I hope you are doing much better with your situation.
