Total knee replacement

@ar7: not sure exactly what you mean by popping. I do a daily set of exercises for Sciatica, one of them is resting a foot on the opposite bent knee while in a prone position. Whenever I start that move - getting the TKR knee bent and angled over - the tendon over the knee cap makes an audible popping sound. Otherwise, it’s simply clicking with every step I take.

My knee will make a loud clunking sound when i walk or move it side to side. i also have pain and swelling in the knee area. i am a very active person and the knee is constantly sore unless i sit around..

Knee buckling 3 years out from total knee replacement. I'm checking this out with a knee orthopedist the end of the week but wondering if anyone else has been dealing with a similar experience. Back in April my same thigh was hurting and the ortho sent me for PT but it resulted in too much pain so I stopped. At this time, I think I need more than a simple xray and am requesting add'l imaging. Not sure if I can get an MRI since there's metal in the knee replacement.

I see you posted a couple of weeks back so wanted to reach out to see what you learned from the knee orthopedist that you mentioned you were to see. Did you get any answers?

He gave me knee and IT band exercises to do on my own and agreed that since I have fibromyalgia to keep away from doing physical therapy. I've been either doing exercises as tolerated or walking each day. The heat has really taken a toll on my due to my fibromyalgia.

Same here. 13 months post surgery. Pain swelling of patellar tendon. Clicking. OS has dismissed me

I am recovering from TKR (9/16/22). It has been a tough recovery, but I'm using a cane now and feeling like I'll be okay in a few more months. I ve scheduled a routine inguinal hernia surgery for mid January. Now I'm beginning to worry about infection. I'll have antibiotics in an IV during the surgery, but because of the knee which i assume still has some scar tissue should I get more antibiotic. BTW I'll call the docs on this...

I would like to think that your medical record would help inform your surgical team of your specific needs around this hernia surgery, but it is always safe to explore options and considerations ahead of time. Does your surgeon know of your prior TKR surgery in September?
