Oh that is no way to live, I am sorry to hear of your food intolerance plus the dread of afib episodes. M.E.

On a positive note, thanks to Inspire.com (a forum much like this one), I connected with a variety of mastocytosis suffers--cutaneous, MCAS and the very serious systemic form (painful bone marrow biopsy, chance of escalating to leukemia).

One of the people posting on the MCAS forum learned about a helpful enzyme from his MD. Don't recall if the doctor was an allergist, gastroenterologist, homeopath. That enzyme? DAO! It actually breaks down/digests histamines! Antihistamines (histamine blockers) can do only so much when a case is severe.

That DAO enzyme was a game changer for months. Then, just as another mentioned, it ceased being as effective. However, I've had two or three normal days in a row now so I'm glad I didn't give up when I relapsed into "flares." The renewed efficacy of DAO? I'm on an even stricter diet now. Succeeded in adding 2/3 of an organic apple every day. Whoo HOO!

This may seem off topic in terms of A-fib but I can rightfully speculate that a dramatic, ongoing loss of electrolytes may be a major contributing factor to my A-fib.

FWIW (for what it's worth), people with IBS-D or another GI problem that causes diarrhea may want to look into this. Also, if you have a friend, family member, coworker with food allergies, they may want to try DAO enzyme for 60 days. Supposedly that's how long it takes to become effective/to build up in the digestive tract. Me? I enjoyed IMMEDIATE improvement! I've put it on a subscription/ auto-ship!

I. Will. Not. Give. Up!
