@josephene I am having terrible insomnia as well. Nothing seems to help. Any specific suggestions? Many thanks.

I'd like to know how it compares to Ambien. I'm taking Seroquel and Ambien to get to sleep and stay there.
And besides being stubborn about taking it every night, do you feel like you would be awake and alert if you took it every night?
I've taken Ambien for over 20 years, and I Cannot go to sleep without it, but I cannot Stay asleep on it.

Have you tried the ambien extended release. I tale zolpidem 6.25 er and it helped keep me asleep for 10 years. I'm just now having trouble getting and staying asleep and looking for something to take in addition

Hi everyone.
I started off on Lunesta for a few years. It was ok but did not keep me asleep. Then I was transferred to Ambien 5mg. I was on Ambien for a few months. It worked a little better than the Lunesta, but I still woke up around 2am and had a hard time falling back to sleep. I just started a new sleeping pill. Been on it for 2 days. And it keeps me sleep all night. I get up around 1am to use the bathroom and I am able to fall right back to sleep. It's almost like a sedation sleep. The name of my new sleeping pill is Trazodone. I take 50mg a night prescribed by my psychiatrist.

I hope you find the right sleeping mix.

Peace and Love.
Michele

I have insomnia and problems with both sleep initiation and staying asleep. Has anyone had sleep studies done? I listen to a sleep hypnosis from iTunes every night, it helps. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/relax-sleep-well-by-glenn-harrold-relaxation-self-hypnosis/id412690467?mt=8

I'm posting this article link because the article also discusses the different drugs people are being prescribed. For less than terribly tenacious insomnia, I've had good results with any tea that combines passion flower and catnip as an herbalist recommended years ago. Grocery stores carry one called Nighty Nite tea by Traditional Medicinals. it's inexpensive and worth a try. The usual chamomile, valerian, hops suggestions have never worked for me but this tea does.

I tried everything. And in my case - changing the job helped me.
The previous one was exhausting me, I was thinking about it all the time: tasks, projects, deadlines.
It turned out that when I started doing what I liked, the problem of insomnia simply disappeared...

I took Trazodone for 32 years! I definitely built up a tolerance, the most I ever took was 150 mg per night and took some vacations for it so it would work again but it helped me a lot. I recently weaned myself off it, for now.
