I would not stop taking statin medication without talking to your doctor. There is another discussion on the topic you may want to read through.

My pharmacist told me you have to stop when taking antibiotics. No weaning time. Felt better when I stopped taking statins. They are neurotoxic, made my neuropathy 10x worse.
