There is a Mayo Clinic article about Alosetron. But this site won't let me post the URL I am not a big drug taker. I even use over the counter meds in moderation.
I have lived with IBS-D for 22 years. Some bouts are more severe than others. My triggers are stress, anxiety, fatty foods, popcorn, corn, cauliflower, even beans and I watch how much daily wheat I eat. I keep Barilla gluten free pasta in the house - which I have found to be the best in texture and taste. I love to bake, but give away most of what I make (except for a small piece for me). Otherwise I may eat too much and have a bout. I tend to be a home body, but will go out with friends, I just make sure I haven't eaten anything that might set me off. The longer I have this, the easier it has become to manage or should I say tolerate. Sometimes though I have a bout and can't figure out what the heck triggered it. Go figure.
@sonnie27 and @rsacker, I can imagine the excitement that the promise of cure generates. Unfortunately the post that proclaimed to be a patient with IBS who found a cure was spam. It’s so important to be hypervigilant about the things posted on the internet including on discussion forums. If it looks too good to be true, it often is. I’m thankful that @rsacker found the old post from 2012 so that it could be removed and this community to be kept safe from misinformation and spam.
I have heard about others saying they have triggers. I have had constant diarrhea no matter what I eat or drink it’s a collagen build up in large intestine and prevents absorption of liquid from waste, thus constant diarrhea. Change in diet has no affect on me whatsoever.

Hi Sonny27-
What you’re going thru sounds like the same issues that I go thru everyday. Nothing I’ve tried has helped me. I just bought a bottle of “ IBS Clear”. I’ve read a lot of good reviews on it. I hope it helps. My stomach gets really bad after lunch. I’ve left restaurants & got my meal to go because it was bad.
I’d love to know if anyone has tried something and got some relief from it.
Let me know how that works for you. The only thing Find that works is watching what I eat. I actually took everything out of my diet except roasted chicken with no spices and slowing added items back in. That's how I found my triggers. I don't eat at restaurants much, everyone once in a while. But I check out the menu before I get there and try to choose something 'safe'. I sympathize with you.

I agree. I have found a diet that takes away my symptoms. However, I started taking dicyclomine for IBS. So far I have received relief from chronic abdominal pain. I still have urgency(I wear a pad so I can go out) and fecal leakage.
My colonoscopy last week was visually clear. Now waiting for biopsy results to see if I have micrscopic inflammatory disease.
I have been struggling with this for years. I have pretty much given up on a cure.

I know all your symptoms, have been in the same boat. Dicyclomine helps with the abdominal pain but makes me dizzy and lethargic. I am now on Entyvio infusion therapy and it has controlled the diarrhea and the cramping some what. No other medications controlled the diarrhea in the past. Let me know what the dr. has to say about the biopsy, I feel for you.

Welcome @rsacker and @missyalora52
Rsacker, I moved your question to this discussion to this new IBS conversation in the Digestive Health group. You posted to an old discussion that looked to be spam. We recommend not sharing your personal email on a public forum, but rather to do so using the secure private messaging.
I have IBS-D. I also want to discuss some of the research being done using ZAXINE. I understand one takes it for 2 weeks to get 10 weeks of freedom from symtoms. Rsacker PhD
