I use these lotions daily when I have an outbreak. a. My basic SuperGoop sunscreen on my arms, face, body, etc. b. I also use CeraVie Itch ReMoisturing Lotion. Not scented. c. In the PM I use Originial Sarna External Analgesic Lotion. It's anti itch formula. It has a bit of a scent, but after I rub it in, the smell fades. I am a super smeller, so can relate to smells bothering me. Because the Sarna works, I put it on and rub it in an hour or so before I go to bed. All of these have been recommended to me by my Dermatologist. My cervical spine doc simply recommends ice until we would need to do (God forbid) a nerve block in the future.

Thank you! One Dermatologist gave me a sack of different lotions to try , it took a year, but none worked. Elta M.D. worked for four months & then it didn’t. I’ve tried organic coconut oil, vitamin E, organic almond oil, organic borage oil-they just make it worse. It’s more a sting or burn than an itch. I haven’t found a doctor that is even interested in trying to help me. One Dermatologist (in a larger city) sent me to an allergy specialist who tested me for things like nickel & we found that I’m very sensitive to nickel & sever other things like fragrance. This doctor sent me to another doctor at a well known medical center who thought that it is either a nerve problem or one of my meds. The Neurologist didn’t seem to find a problem.

Good evening @jal333. Today, my dermatologist advised that I wrap my arms with saran wrap after using Sarna. That ensures that the Sarna gets to the source of the itch. I am in the middle of another flare now so will give it a try. Just an FYI.

May you be safe and protected.
