I have had horrible itching, stinging, burning on my arms for over 10 years now. I have been to every kind of doctor imaginable. I diagnosed myself with brachioradial puritis after searching the internet. Only one doctor that I have seen even knew what it was and that was a dermatologist. He knew what it was and also knew there was nothing he could offer to help me. I have tried every kind of cream on the market and nothing helps. As everyone with this condition knows the only thing that helps is ICE! It first started on my forearms and now it is all the way to my shoulders. I have had several injections in my neck to chiropractic care. Nothing helps. I just can't believe there is not someone out there that can't find a cure for this debilitating condition.

Hi @help22. Welcome to Mayo Connect, a place where we all share our medical experiences and look for understanding of our problems, hopes, and aspiration for healthy living -- not to recommend diagnoses or treatments, which are the province of highly education medical professionals whom we seek as team mates. I hope you have had the time to review the postings on this discussion about Brachioradial pruritis. Even so, you may wish to check up on this posting from the Cleveland Clinic on the subject: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21181-brachioradial-pruritus. I have a similar condition, Aquagenic puritus, there is a Facebook group that discovered the Beta Alanine, which is usually used as a workout supplement and sold over the counter, works really well at controlling the itch. Who knows but it might help your issue as well...I’ve been taking it for 3 years with no issues...I take 750mg with any sign of itch and 1500 mg when I know it will be triggered...like before a shower.
