Brachioradial pruritus. (severe itching on forearms and neck, no rash).
Does anyone know of this. I think its rare but does exist. My neurologist does not know about this. I have compression between my c5 and c6 cervical disk and have had alot of sun damage to my skin.

Zyrtec won’t help until you get it under control. When I use lotion (at night) & the itch/ stinging starts, I use Zyrtec. Before the Cymbalta & physical therapy I was put on Zyrtec twice a day, but it didn’t help. I think it helps at night if I need it now & then. CBD interferes with heart meds, so I cannot try it.
Thanks for the info. my wife had a compound prescription with Amylripoline with some type of cream. . (I know I misspelled that). It worked for her but then the drug plan would no longer pay for it because they said they could not guarantee the safety of the compound since it came from another source. I think another reason was the cost was about 700.00 a month. I would be willing to pay out of pocket for the medication you suggested - any idea what it costs?
I used a compounded cream that worked with ketamine, amitryptaline and lidocaine. Was about $65 for a small amount. Most compounding pharmacies can do this with a script.
FYI - I eventually got off of the cream and the CNS drug, by taking the right magnesium product- which not only resolved the itching but does a lot more. See Remag product on Amazon.
This is my first time on this site. I was recently diagnosed with brachio radial pruritis although I think I’ve had it for a few years now. My dermatologist prescribed s compound which sort of helps but she suggested seeing an orthopedist for cortisone shots in my neck. I had severe whiplash years ago and am pretty sure my neck is a mess. Does anyone have experience with these shots? I’m hesitant but the itching has spread all the way down one arm and halfway down the other and at times it’s just maddening. (Can’t carry icepacks everywhere.) I’d like to know others’ experiences with cortisone.
A few years ago a doctor was frantic to help me. He said try pain relief you get at Rite Aid under there label. Come to find out it is really Aspercream, and it was working. So was thinking could this be pain not itch. Forget ice. So between the aspercream and the triacinolone a prescription I was covered.
CURED of the brachioradial, after 30 years. I was seeing a DO doctor for gentle omt's. She was working on my right arm for an injury, I noticed 2 weeks ago I am itch free on my arms. First time in 30 years. Since this is a cervical vertebrae issue, only logical you should get a doctor to do these gentle omt's. So she was working around my arm, shoulder, shoulder blade for a bad twist of my arm. First time in 30 years. Stopped.
I suffered with this for several years, and this year it ran rampant. After seeing a good chiropractor and using the CBD cream on my arms it has completely disappeared. Good luck
What are omt’s?
No one knows not even my doctors after severe itching on my foreams for 30 years, ugh. Well miracles do happen. I see a DO doctor for gentle OMT'S (they are trained in this). 3 weeks ago had one, I suffer from many problems, found this disease myself almost a year ago on this site. So noticed 2 weeks ago almost all my hair on arms disappeared and no itching. My skin is perfectly healed, all it shows are the scars. Its so odd to see my skin like new. Not one red spot. She was working on my arms and shoulder. For a shoulder issue. Primary doctor set up mri for me this week. The thinking is a torn rotator cuff, separate issue, but primary thought pinched nerve on neck. Because of arms which would bleed from scratching. So when the doctor did the the gentle manipulation she must have released the pinched nerve which stopped the itching. I took hydroxzine since 2000 25 mg.5 pills a day to help control the itching, one dr thought it was pain, not itching. He said use aspercream lotion. For some reason the roll on makes it worse. So put on arms, would burn a little cause skin we was raw, ok it stopped the itch
