@boucow - I feel for your husband! Abdominal pain for years without a good answer.
The remaining gallstones don’t have to be large- I had what they called “ gravel” that partially blocked the duct.
Are you at a major medical center now? I’m surprised that he has not had surgery yet- unless he’s being treated for an infection before surgery.
You are 100% correct in that you have to advocate for yourself. Your husband is lucky to have you to help him

@astaingegerdm Thank you for your reply. I'm only seeing it bow. Sorry for the long delay. After about a week in hospital, he was sent to another hospital for removal. The stone had caused too much irritation and swelling, so it had become lodged. They placed a stent, allowing the bile to bypass the stone. This was kept in place for 3 months, (during which time he was home) and helped relieve the swelling and irritation, making the stone easier to remove. They told him at that time, that it may have damaged his pancreas, but so far, other than occasional discomfort, there's been no further episodes of pancreatitis.
