This started out of the blue, but since I posted last, I have found relief! The ENT said it would take about 10 days and I can finally breathe again! I was diagnosed with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux.
With 2 nose sprays, allergy meds, and Omeprazole, I’m feeling much better!
It’s also important to stay away from foods that trigger reflux (caffeine, spice, citrus, chocolate, tomatoes, and alcohol!
It’s been scary and very uncomfortable, but I’m so happy to be able to breathe!

Wow I'm so glad you found relief! It's always a joy and also a ray of hope for others on here when someone finds relief of their symptoms and greatly improves. I'm so glad you're able to breathe right again, and thank you for sharing the good news!

That’s wonderful news! So just to be clear, the pulmonologist cleared you of any lung disease. May I ask how the silent reflux was diagnosed?!? Was that what was causing your inability to catch a deep breath?!? If so, I’m curious if they explained how that works?? I have some of those symptoms nasal blockages, some drainage, mucus building up in the back of my throat, increasing need to clear my throat, some hoarseness, inability to catch a deep breath.

Mine started out of the blue but coincided with getting Covid. December, 2020. Had the same symptoms, air hunger, stutter or anxiety type breathing, yawning, sighing.
I also take the H1 and H2s (Zyrtec and Pepcid AC). It defintely helps. I use an allergy spray called Nasalcrom. I stay away from histamine also in foods.

I had a scope done of my esophagus. Nothing was found out of the ordinary.
My relief is up and down, it may be great for a stretch of time (up to 12 days), then return for a few. But overall I'm improving. It's been scary for about 18 months but slowly, slowly, I'm improving. Glad you're better and it's nothing to do with your lungs!
