Has anyone had leg numbness due to bone mets?

Does anyone have leg numbness due to bone mets, and if so how was it treated? Radiation to her sacrum and sternum seems to have moderately reduced pain in those areas but her leg numbness continues and they are unable to find anything in her spine that would be causing such. MRI shows my wife's brain mets have shrunk after taking Tagrisso, but seems to have lesser effect on bone mets.

Welcome, @alamo99. I'm sorry to hear that your wife is dealing with pain and numbness along with metastatic lung cancer. This sounds like something different from peripheral neuropathy, which can be a common side effect of cancer and its treatments. Am I correct?

How curious that Tagrisso was effective for the brain mets, but not the bone mets. I assume the numbness affects her mobility as well as being uncomfortable. What helps her feel more comfortable? How are you doing?

Hi @alamo99 !

This link might help a bit https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/osimertinib-oral-route/side-effects/drg-20165188. One area to explore is is in the "More Common" side effects, "sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg."

I hope that your cancer care team can help you. We use the my wife's Mayo Clinic patient portal to report side effects and the Mayo Clinic Cancer Care Team comes up with something to help mitigate or remove the issue.

Thank you for your comments and concern. I guess it's not a very common problem. She had this problem way before taking Tagrisso. She's got another round of MRI's, so maybe we can pin point the problem. Also, Tagrisso may help with the problem in the future.

Hi @alamo99 my mum has been diagnosed with lung cancer that had also metastasised to the sacrum bone. She also received radiotherapy for that area in an effort to relieve her of pain. The immediate pain has gone but she is also now experiencing numbness in her legs when sitting up/ weighting her sacrum. It looks likely she will start taking tagrisso soon. I was wondering if you had any insight on the numbness or if mobility improved after tagrisso. Thanks
