Hello @graysea, Welcome to Connect. I'm sorry to hear that prednisone has caused such awful side effects for you. I guess the silver lining if you can call it that is that you don't have polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). There is another discussion on tapering that you might find helpful but it's about tapering when you have PMR pain which I'm assuming you don't have if you do not have PMR.

It took me 3-1/2 years to taper off of predninsone the first time I had PMR and started treatment at 20mg prednisone. My rheumatologist had me keep a daily pain/symptoms log along with the dosage I was taking.
Have you discussed the tapering plan and your symptoms with your doctor?

The physician who prescribed 40 mg prednisone, was uncomfortable with the taporing. I found an interist that has tapored me from 40 to 6 mg. Currently, I suffer from severe dizziness, nausea, insomnia, and anxiety. She has referred me to endocrinology . It is especially sad because I was prescribed this medication for a condition that was ruled out. I currently tapor 1 mg monthly. Is there any diet suggestions for prednisone withdrawal. There is no medications that help with this process.
