Good morning Jackie! 😊 I have a small incisional hernia too....mine is near my belly button. (Unfortunately, I think they are fairly common). For now, my hernia is "on watch". Was your hernia causing trouble or pain so they decided to repair? Was yours near your belly button too?
I am surprised to hear that you have celiac disease. Do you think you always had celiac disease or did it recently develop? Actually, I don't think gluten is good for any of us. So giving up gluten is probably better for our health. I should probably try to avoid it too. My sister in law makes and buys pancake mixes, muffins, bread, bagels, made out of oat flour or almond flour from Amazon. Is that what you are doing now?
I have heard wonderful things about Mt. Sinai so I am not surprised to hear that you are so pleased with their care. It also sounds like it's fairly convenient (when there is no traffic, which I guess is not too often in NY!).
Definitely remember to keep your "girdle" on for support until you are completely healed. I don't think your guts will fall out (Lol) ....but it sounds like it will give you a better feeling while healing!

Good morning 🌄 you too. What is your name and where do u live? I am in NJ. So yes a trip to the city was wonderful during covid..no traffic at all!! My hernia was at the liver site and was bulging and making me uncomfortable. After my surgeries and meds..no wonder I got celiac..but using the products is no big deal.they r all over the stores. Have a great 4th

May I ask you share some info on your hernia:
- Was this after the transplant ?
- Did the Surgeon use the mesh technique to fix it ?
Thanks
