Echolight sonogram scan for bones
Has anyone heard of, or had an Echolight sonogram scan instead of a radiation DEXA scan? New FDA approved that has been used in Europe for awhile. https://www.echolightmedical.com/en/company/

I haven't heard of that, @csday. Do you know if the results of the Sonogram conflict with the dexa scan results? The trabecular bone score (TBS) is supposed to give a more accurate reading as it focuses on bone quality, not quantity, but I don't know where that is available and would love to hear from anyone who had one.
I had a Echolight (REMS) procedure performed. I was quite surprised at the results. My DEXA scan in April/22, showed my spine overall score was -2.8, my hips were -2.1 and -2.3.
The Echolight was done twice and the results were averaged. My spine overall spine was -2.2, with a fragility in the average bone category, meaning less chance of fracture. My hips were a surprise with the first scan reading -2.8 and the second reading -2.9 (for both hips). And the fragility score was slightly less than average with a slight risk of fracture. The scores seem to be reversed from my DEXA scan. Although, my DEXA did not have the TBS software to calculate strength as the Echolight did. I will have a consult with the dr. in 2 weeks to go over my results and what they mean for me.
Can you please tell me where you had the Echolight (Rems) performed.

I heard of the Echolight scan from Dr Susan Brown of Better Bones
I found a clinic in Asheville NC

My echolight scan was very close to my previous dexa It showed my bone strength as strong even though my density is at risk.
That's good news, though, right? Density is not the whole story. I read the FDA has recently approved something called Bone Score which also, purportedly, looks at several parameters beyond density to get a more comprehensive picture of bone health.
Maybe the TBS is the same thing as Bone Score?
Good that you were able to get that done, @cat22. Please post when you know what your results mean.
Teri, do you get new DEXA results this month? I'm hoping that the vibrating plate exercise registers good numbers. Well, I'm hoping for good numbers from any cause for that matter...
Regarding the reference in earlier posts to “Bone Score”, it looks like it is currently only available in California. There is no info on cost, etc. yet. But it would be nice to have more options than just the standard DEXA.
