Hi Amy,

I did the Paxman cool scalp at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. My chemo regimen was Cisplatin & Alimta 4 times/ 3 weeks apart. I had shedding but kept about 90% of my hair.

Paxman is a great company to work with. You need to check with your chemo facility on what cooling systems they have, then contact that company to order your cap. With Paxman, I printed off an application form and made an appointment with my oncologist to be fitted for my cap. Then you pay them over the phone and they send you the cap in a few days. Mine was not covered by insurance so I paid out of pocket.

Other good companies for cold capping are Dignicap & Penguin Cold Caps. Most of the cold capping is marketed toward breast cancer patients but don’t get discouraged, they would for lung cancer patients as well.

Thanks so much for the leads!
Unfortunately i dont think my local oncology facility is large enough to have connections like this, but i will call them tomorrow !
I have seen a few companies that seem to rent everything needed. Im looking into it more. 90% retention seems great!

I wont know until later this week or early next the type of chemo they will use for me— those are certainly words i never thought id type!.

Thanks again!
Amy
