@flow65, my mom is also sensitive to medications in general, especially pain medications. She often takes a lower dose than the average or typical person. @brit started a similar discussion here that you may wish to read:

I’m considering Genesight testing. My psychiatrist wasn’t in favor of it. Told me it’s not that accurate. I’m seeking out a provider that does Genesight testing. They told us that our insurance should pay for all of it. I hope they’re telling us the truth. If it’s a reliable company? And then to tell my psychiatrist about it. He may not be pleased. Thank you.
