What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

This is what’s outside my window! We had a tree that started falling apart so we had it taken down before it could fall down (on our house!). Then this summer my husband hired a wood carver who found a fox and a raccoon in the tree! Our yard ends at the tree so all the park visitors think it belongs to the park.

How nice! Foxes are wonderful creatures 💖

@becsbuddy Beatiful! We have a madrone "stump" that is the remains of a lightening strike about 10 years ago. It is about 10" tall. We thought of having a wood carver do something with it. Since we live on a dead end street, no one goes by, so a carving would be "just for us", I am still toying with the idea of building a gnome/fairy village on this stump.

@ellamster It is about 12' tall, not 10". Oops, fumble fingers last night. I have been gathering bits and pieces. Since it is in the front yard, probably it will be a few feet off the ground to discourage critters' nosiness. A platform circling part of the stump, building the base. And thinking of a set of "stairs" made of twigs up to the compound. One of my "mind's eye" projects.

I'm currently at Mayo Florida for immunology appt. Allergy test showed NO allergies....sensitivity but not allergies. Amazing! Now, more tests re. immune system.

Having fun seeing the birdseed on my patio sprout and bloom. Here's one, some kind of daisy??? growing in the shrimp plant I like the yellow with the shrimp color. So, letting it grow to see what happens.

Also, a shot of a wall sculpture on cafeteria wall. Multiple sculptures...

Back home to rest. Had eggs/bacon, coffee to sit and rest a bit. Heading home now. Back this afternoon with Rob for botox in jaw and chest, referral to neurosurgeon and palliative care consult.. Finally, he's getting attention he has needed for 20 years. I've been fighting to get him help...please pray this is turning point for him.

Blessings to all...elizabeth

@ess77 I’m always amazed at how you keep going and going! After a long morning, you’re going back with Rob to make sure he gets the help he needs. What a wonderful mother!!

Here’s the view from last night. I woke up at 1:30am and couldn’t fall back asleep. I decided that it would be more productive to go for a swim rather than toss and turn. I listened to some music and enjoyed a warm, but not too warm, Arizona night as I swam.

@alive, @becsbuddy, and all...Green-eyed monster just arrived at my place when I read your post and saw the pool. Now that's cruel.

We have a condo pool, closed at night so this I can't do. When my fiance was living, we enjoyed his pool often, I even more than he. I was retired and spent good relaxing time in the pool and planting a bit. Good time.

Hit the therapy pool Friday. Much needed!

Enjoy and be blessed.

Well it's not exactly outside my window but it is within walking distance 😁 and it's Stagecoach Days in Mantorville. Sigh, it's too hot to walk even for ice cream or chocolate...I think.

@elimseoj - Did you get a chance to stop by the Chocolate Shoppe when you visited our town while at the Rochester Mayo Clinic? I hope so. They have a great selection of homemade candies - https://chocolateshoppe.co/story

@johnbishop
You got my mouth watering.
It's NEVER to hot to get chocolate or ice cream. Take an insulated bag with ice for chocolates.
Suppose to be 103° today. Same as yesterday and the next few days.
